Cutthorpe is a small picturesque village with superb views over Chesterfield, which is about 3 miles south-east. It spreads along 3 miles of the B6050 to the east of and is close to the Peak District National Park. There are 2 pubs, a village school, recreation ground with a cricket square, the Village Institute plus the Linacre Reservoirs with beautiful bluebell woods and surrounding walks. Cutthorpe Community Picnic

Saturday 23 July - 2.00 - 6.00 pm Raising funds for the Playground fund. We need donations of Tombola prizes including good-as-new chldrens toys, raffle prizes. (call Natalie on 07909 526333 or email natalie@crush- design.co.uk) Village Hall Cream Teas As in previous years, the Village Hall will be serving cream teas and cake during the Community Picnic from 2.00-4.00 pm. We would be very grateful for donations of scones and cakes on the day. The Hall will be open from 12 midday for dropping them off. We would also be grateful for bottle donations for a raffle - all proceeds will be going towards the Playground fund. For any enquiries contact wendy.lawrie@btinternet.com 07983 354442

Scarecrow competition

Come along to the Three Merry Lads car park on Saturday 16th July 4.00 pm to create your own scarecrow, bring your own clothes to dress it, and BBQ. Cutthorpe Kids Play in the Park Repeating last year’s success there will be a number of play sessions during the summer holidays (weather dependent) for local families to enjoy a range of activities in the park. This is going from strength to strength and is proving very popular - we are finding inspiration from visiting various gardens in the village.
