Cutthorpe is a small picturesque village with superb views over Chesterfield, which is about 3 miles south-east. It spreads along 3 miles of the B6050 to the east of and is close to the Peak District National Park. There are 3 pubs, a village school, recreation ground with a cricket square and village institute plus the Linacre Reservoirs with beautiful bluebell woods and surrounding walks. An annual festival is held over the 2nd weekend in July together with the traditional well dressing ceremony. News in Brief  See more detailed news on the News and Events page Dates for your diary Monday 2nd July 5.30: Setting up the Well dressing frame Saturday/Sunday 7/8th July: Marking out of the Well Dressing picture (barking) Sunday 8th July 4.00 pm : Scarecrow making & BBQ Thursday 12th July Marquee erection cricket field 5 pm Friday 13 July 6.30 pm: Dedication of the wells  7.30 pm:Thunderroadz and the Merry Lads     and Lassies (Cutthorpe Choir) in the marquee Saturday 14th July: 2.00 Festival, 3.00 pm Fun Run, 7.00-10.30 pm: Open Mic Night Sunday 15 th July 9am: Festival clear up Cutthorpe Cricket Club vs MCC all day Tuesday 17th July T20 cricket Cutthorpe CC vs Derbyshire CC - evening match Sunday 22nd July 9.00am clear away Well Dressing Festival The festival runs from Friday-Sunday 13-15th July with the Well Dressing Blessing starting off proceedings on Friday 13th at 6.30 in the Institute followed by Music in the marquee. Saturday’s events cover the usual festival proceedings on the Recreation Ground from 2.00 and Cream teas in the Institute. Sunday sees the centenary of the Cutthorpe Cricket Club celebrated by an all day match against the MCC.
