Events in Cutthorpe 2021

There are usually plenty of happenings in Cutthorpe, however, as last year, these have had to be put on hold. We did manage to bring some cheer to the children of the village at Easter with a delivery of Easter Eggs. We managed to arrange a low key Village picnic in August and there was also an planned Halloween Spooktacular event, which the weather curtailed but the pumpkin and fancy dress entries were superb.
Easter Once again the Easter celebrations planned for Cutthorpe Kids had to be put on hold due to Coronavirus restrictions. However the Cutthorpe Creatives group once again wrapped up and delivered Easter eggs to any of the village children whose parents let us know they’d like one. and Millie looked fantastic in her prize winning Easter Bonnet.
Halloween Pumpkins Cutthorpe Kids put on a great display of pumpkins - along with some adult submissions.

Village Picnic Having hibernated since their outing in the pub Christmas 2019 the ‘Emerging Village Band’ were allowed to inflict their talents on a handful of brave souls who joined them on the Cricket Ground on Sunday evening, (29th August) for a picnic and singsong. To finish the evening John Thurstan did his best (?) to look like one of ABBA (not sure which - male or female) and some of the choir, who also haven’t had a chance to get together women and manfully sang through a few folk songs and a handful of ABBA songs, supported by the spectators.

Remembrance Day

Cutthorpe residents got together to produce a memorial and a display of home-made poppies that decorated the Coronation Tree at the top of Common Lane. Thanks to everyone who produced poppies and also to the Men’s Shed for the soldier and cairn - in particular Mike Robotham, Steve Dugmore and Bernard Sinclair, also to Liz Robotham for the large poppies by the cairn.
